Uh Oh. Something is missing. Try double checking things.
March gardening tasks...
Finish pruning Shrub, Patio, Ground Cover, Floribunda and Hybrid Tea roses this month. Feed afterwards with general purpose or rose fertiliser and mulch with well-rotted manure.
Shrubs and trees in permanent containers benefit from annual topdressing. Replace top 5cm of old compost with new, mixing in some slow-release fertiliser granules.
Put slug controls in place around perennials such as hostas and delphiniums to protect the young shoots.
If mild, begin successional planting of summer-flowering gladioli bulbs in containers or sunny borders.
Begin planting onion and shallot sets.
Tidy strawberry plants, removing dead, damaged or diseased leaves, old runners and fruit.
Check bird netting over gooseberry bushes, as bullfinches like to eat the developing buds.
Leave out nesting materials for birds, e.g. wool, straw, pet hair.
Put out specialist food for hedgehogs emerging from hibernation.
Plant herbaceous perennials which provide pollen and nectar for pollinators.
